A Jumpsuit For Every Shape

Jumpsuits and Rompers have been in the spotlight much too much for me to pass up an opportunity to teach you a few tricks. That being said many people believe they don’t have the right shape for this attire. I want to tell you that there is hope! Don’t give up your love for this garment just yet, as there is one for every one of you!

First you must take a look at this chart and praise the shape you are, because it is perfect.

Inverted Triangle
Because of your broad shoulders we want to highlight your hips to make them seem as broad as your shoulders. Do not clutter your upper half. Keep it minimal up top while accentuate that booty by belting your mid. Peplum details will work wonders for you.

Avoid thick straps and halter tops as they will draw attention to your shoulders. Try and avoid patterns on top. Don’t clutter your neck with scarves and thick jewelry. Keep it simple up there.

Column Shape (rectangle)
It is crucial for you to make yourself a waistline. Do this by wearing high-waisted bottoms and wearing tops with broad shoulders, for example a blazer with shoulder pads. If you choose to wear a blazer though, make sure it does not end around your stomach. Make it a long blazer that ends at your hips.

Avoid figure hugging garments and long straight lines. Get garments with structure and don’t get anything shapeless. When shopping for structured garments try not to get anything too bulky.

Hourglass
Girl work your curves. There is not much you can’t pull off, and there’s not many who don’t envy what your mama gave you. If there is any advice to give it is to show off what you’ve got and get brave with it. Accentuate your ASSets (ha) by cinching at the waist with a belt or tie.

Oval Shape (diamond or round)
For your shape you will want to create the illusion of the hourglass by wearing garments that give you a good waist. Keep your clothing line straight. You want garments that are light weight so you don’t add any bulk to your stomach and bust area. Keep detail around your stomach simple. Give your shoulders attention with a flutter, cap sleeve, or padded shoulder.

Avoid wearing belts of any size. Try and find garments with sleeves that end anywhere BUT the bust area. Try to avoid detail in the bust, stomach and hip area and don’t buy garments that end in your fuller areas.

Pear Shape (triangle)
Girl let me first say, I am jealous of that booty. Although it really is something, you’re going to want to balance out your broad hips by accentuating your shoulders. Try and find coats and blazers that end above or below your hips. Color, pattern and bulky jewelry are a must for your top half only.

Avoid flared leg lines and cropped pants. Don’t go heavy on the detail for your bottom half, like color and pattern. Mini skirts are not your friend and neither are pencil skirts. Don’t cut your legs in half with ankle strap heels or booties. Make those legs look long with pumps.
